This league was based in Europe and operated as something of a farm league for the NFL. NFL teams could officially allocate young players to NFL Europe so they could get extra experience. The remainder of team rosters were made up of players who didn’t quite make the cut in NFL training camps, undrafted free agents, and European players, all hoping to get noticed. The league played a spring schedule culminating in the World Bowl. NFL Europe was descended from the World League of American Football. The ball used in NFL Europe was the same Wilson F1000 used by the NFL.
